Year 12 Food Technology Commercial Industry Visit

Year 12 Food Technology students and Mrs. Osborne recently visited Thompson’s Bakery at Gateshead for a behind the scenes look at how pies, sausage rolls, garlic bread, lamingtons and bread is made.

Thankyou to Thompsons management for hosting our Students and the tour of your facilities. It was amazing to hear that during the pandemic business improved due to innovations in technology and dedication of staff.

Food Technology students are currently undertaking an assessment task where they must design and develop a product using the correct steps in the Food Manufacturing Process. By visiting the bakery, students were able to view firsthand how industrial food manufacturing practices are implemented and adhered to while producing a high quality product.
