Principal's welcome

Welcome to Cardiff High School – A School of Excellence and Opportunity

As Principal of Cardiff High School, I am proud to lead a vibrant, inclusive, and future-focused learning community. Co-educational and comprehensive, Cardiff High School has a long-standing tradition of nurturing student success within a safe, supportive, and community-focused environment.

Cardiff High School is committed to providing every student with a personalised and high-quality education that supports academic growth, fosters wellbeing, and builds aspiration. Our broad curriculum, engaging co-curricular opportunities, and dedicated staff create an environment where all students are encouraged to thrive.

Under the Cardiff High School Excellence Plan 2024–2027, our focus is guided by three key priorities:

  • Student Growth and Attainment
  • Belonging
  • Aspiration

These pillars reflect our deep belief that every student can achieve success when they are known, valued, and cared for. We have proudly expanded Quality Teaching Rounds across all KLAs, enhanced our approach to High Potential and Gifted Education, and introduced a Middle School Class Model to better support students transitioning into high school.

Our wellbeing focus remains a hallmark of our school. In 2024, we launched a partnership with The Resilience Project, supporting our Stage 4 students in building resilience and emotional wellbeing. Our bespoke Stage 6 Student Mentoring Program continues to provide individualised support for our senior students as they navigate their learning and post-school pathways.

Cardiff High School is also a leader in inclusive education, with our SOAR Learning Centre delivering tailored programs across seven support classes. From operating the popular “Sunny Beans” café to participating in community outreach and sporting initiatives, our students in SOAR are active contributors to our school and wider community.

Our work in Aboriginal Education has also been strengthened through the appointment of a dedicated fulltime Aboriginal Education Officer and enhanced Personalised Learning Pathway (PLP) processes that support cultural inclusion and success.

Leadership is deeply embedded in our culture. Our Aspirant School Leaders Program continues to nurture staff leadership, while student voice is fostered through active roles in the Student Representative Council (SRC) and the Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (JAECG).

At Cardiff High School, our students develop a strong sense of identity, connectedness, and pride in their school. They leave us as capable, confident young people, ready to contribute meaningfully to their local and global communities.

Guided by our core values of Respect, Safety, and Engagement, our school is more than a place of learning, it is a place where futures are shaped, dreams are supported, and every student is empowered to reach their full potential.

Whether you are a current or prospective family, I warmly invite you to discover why Cardiff High School is the school of choice for our community.
